The Stork Project in Skåne is jointly run by Skåne’s Ornithologial Society and the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (Skåne branch). In two rearing aviaries Storks and raised and young are ringmarked and then released. The aim is to reintroduce Storks to Sweden as nesting birds. The project involves about 50 volunteers.

Ornithologist Staffan Åkeby sits in the management group for the Stork Project and has previously been Chairperson of Skåne’s Ornithologial Society. Before he retired, he was head of Skånes Djurpark.
