This talk focuses on recent trips Hakim made to Somaliland to collect data on the drought sensitivity of trees. He also did some birding while there and will talk about some of the birdlife in the country.

Hakim Abdi is a researcher at the Center for Environmental and Climate Science at Lund University in the area of ecosystem geoinformatics. He has a PhD in Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science, also from Lund. He grew up in the United Arab Emirates and picked up birding as a hobby 29 years ago.
