The modern environmental debate started with the publication of Rachel Carson’s book Silent Spring. Ornithologists were among the first to see what was happening. To this day certain species of Canary keep us informed of the state of our environment.

After fifty years as a journalist and photographer focussing on nature and the environment Henrik Ekman is now a pensioner. Or rather a mature author of reference books on these subjects.
Henrik is well known as the reassuring voice of SVT’s nature broadcasts – Sweden’s equivalent of David Attenborough.
