Bird flu – effects on the health of birds, other animals and humans

Over recent years bird flu has caused major losses for commercial poultry industries but has also hit hard certain wild bird populations. In this presentation we learn more about the risks, about the virus’ effects on wild birds in our proximity, about how other animals can be affected and how we as humans can adapt to the infection.

Lotta Berg is a veterinarian and researcher at Sweden’s agricultural college, where she works with issues related to animal welfare and preventive animal health. Included in this area is research into the connection between wild animals’, tame animals’, and humans’ health. Lotta is also Chairperson of the Board of BirdLife Sweden.
