A large number of people feed birds during the winter. This fact led to BirdLife Sverige starting a Winter Garden Birdwatch in which the general public have helped by counting the birds visiting their birdfeeders, a so-called “Citizen Science” project. Someone who has been on board for the entire “Garden Birdwatch journey” is BirdLife’s Anders Wirdheim. He can tell of many interesting results some of which have then been supported by scientific investigations.
